A political party is a group of people who have similar ideas about how their city, province or country should be governed. There are more than 23 registered across Canada.

What is the role of a political party?
  • Decide on a clear statement of their ideas. This is called the PLATFORM.
  • Choose candidates
      • have a nominating convention
      • choose a leader
      • choose candidates

     

  • Support the party's candidates during an election
