GENERAL INFORMATION

A municipal (local) government is responsible for the needs of a small area.

A municipal government has a mayor or reeve.

It has a council with councillors.

 

 

By-laws

Municipal laws are called "by-laws". Police officers are responsible for enforcing by-laws. Examples of a by-law are smoking in public places or speed limits near schools and play grounds.
